Torus Manufacturing turned 1,200 monthly hours of manual work into zero by building a Planext automation layer over their existing SAP infrastructure.
The Challenge
Torus had identified 14 high-volume manual processes that collectively consumed 1,200 staff hours per month. Procurement required manual PO creation and email approval chains. HR onboarding was a 3-week paper-based process. Monthly financial close required 8 days of manual data aggregation.
The constraint: a significant existing investment in SAP ERP meant replacing systems was not an option.
The Planext Solution
We built automation on top of SAP rather than replacing it. A custom API integration layer connected SAP to modern automation workflows, allowing us to trigger processes based on SAP events and write results back to the ERP automatically.
All 14 processes were mapped, prioritized by impact, and automated in a phased 8-week implementation. A central monitoring dashboard provides real-time visibility into every automated workflow with SLA tracking and exception alerts.
